Kate Spade, a brand owned by Tapestry, is investing in more precise gift-giving recommendations with the help of its own agentic commerce shopping assistant.

The company built Kate Spade AI Gift Concierge, a conversational shopping experience, using AWS' Bedrock AgentCore platform.

Consumers can use the chat-style tool to get product recommendations for their gift-giving occasions, taking into account the recipient, the type of event and shopper intent. The AI pulls insights and real behaviors from Amazon's Alexa for Shopping platform, shaping answers based on how people have shopped for gifts in the past while maintaining Kate Spade's brand voice.

The company went live with this tool in April after completing a period of rigorous testing that spanned nearly three months. The solution is expected to convert shopping sessions at 3.5 times the rate of traditional keyword search.

Yang Lu, CIDO at Tapestry, said the company is excited about the possibilities that agentic commerce can bring to its customers, adding that this approach has allowed the company to build the customization its consumers needed.
