Non-alcoholic beverage brand Tost Beverages is running a digital, AI-powered marketing activation to engage consumers during the holiday season.

The company created a microsite through which consumers can use artificial intelligence to automatically generate a personalized toast for a specific occasion (i.e., a heartfelt speech for a retiring boss at their company holiday party or sharing thanks to a cousin hosting Thanksgiving for the first time).

Digital display ads in target markets will include a QR code to the experience, which will be available year-round.

"We believe this initiative will solve a major pain point for consumers when it comes to blending creative flair with public speaking," said Jess Daponte, chief marketing officer of Tost Beverages.

More QR and AI Marketing Activations

Tost joins other manufacturers that are bolstering marketing efforts with QR-enabled and AI-driven experiences.

For example, Cognac brand D’ussé embarked on its biggest investment in tech experiences by launching a curated set list accessible through a QR-enabled augmented reality experience. Consumers chose one of three cocktails from a menu to access an AR filter of producer Hit-Boy seemingly spinning a set from their homes. Users could toggle between the different cocktail offerings to switch between setlists and animations.

In August, Mondelez International, via its Oreo brand, and The Coca-Cola Company collaborated on a marketing push. New product packaging included a QR code that consumers could scan to unlock “Bestie Mode” and sync up music preferences with their friends through a new Spotify platform.

Last year, Coca-Cola also helped consumers travel to the year 3000 through a generative-AI-powered experience. Consumers could access the experience, located on the Coca-Cola Creations Hub, by scanning QR codes on soda packs. Inside the platform, they could create their futuristic environments, creating images on the Coca-Cola Y3000 AI Cam with the help of generative AI tech from Stable Fusion.
