Kenvue, which manufactures such brands as Neutrogena, Listerine, Tylenol, and Aveeno, has opened a new Science and Innovation lab as part of a relocated global headquarters previously located in Skillman.

The new 100,000-square-foot facility is in Summit, New Jersey, and includes an insights lab, a sensory lab, and a design lab — spaces created to accelerate innovation and enhance consumer experiences, according to the company.

The insights lab, through which Kenvue can develop, test, and showcase its products, includes a 270-degree digital retail environment via a virtual experience room that immerses visitors and allows them to provide real-time feedback on in-store execution. Within the sensory lab, Kenvue will implement rapid prototyping and consumer testing, and the design lab has advanced 3D and 2D modeling capabilities.

The new space is meant to foster a collaborative environment, consolidating teams previously spread across seven geographic locations in the U.S.

The Strategy Behind the Move

The location is set to support the company’s "Our Vue Forward" efficiency initiative, which launched last year and includes significant investments toward upgrading its IT infrastructure for faster and better decision-making to become more competitive with peers, CFO Paul Ruh said during a previous earnings call.

The relocation will also help the company tap into talent in the life science, data, technology, and marketing sectors, the company said.

“There is no better place to unlock the full potential of our iconic brands than in the state many of our brands have proudly called home for more than 135 years,” Thibaut Mongon, CEO of Kenvue, said in a statement.
