Primo Brands Names Ravi Thatavarthy CISO

Primo Brands, manufacturer of water brands such as Poland Spring, Pure Life and Deer Park, has hired Ravi Thatavarthy to oversee the company's cybersecurity and IT efforts.

As chief information and security officer, Thatavarthy will "strengthen the security and technology foundation that supports an iconic portfolio of brands," he shared on LinkedIn.

Thatavarthy brings extensive digital security and tech leadership experience across major retail and consumer goods brands. 

Before joining Primo Brands, he spent four years at Rite Aid, culminating in the role of group VP, CISO and enterprise architecture, where he spearheaded security strategy and optimized IT infrastructure to protect customers and drive digital innovation, according to LinkedIn

Prior to that, he spent three years as VP and CISO of BJ's Wholesale Club, where he helped transform security into a proactive function that enabled cloud migration, digital transformation and enhanced in-club member experiences. 

Additionally, Thatavarthy served as CISO for iRobot's product and IT functions. In that role, he was responsible for defining the vision, strategy and execution of a comprehensive global information security program across IT, connected products (IoT, hardware, software, mobile, and cloud security), and customer privacy (GDPR, data security and governance).
