Hershey's Data Strategy
The company has historically used consumer behavior data to inform its business decisions, including creating more convenient packaging that drives household penetration. Recent insights suggest a shift in how consumers are purchasing and enjoying snacks, prioritizing convenience, portion control, permissibility and portability.
Hershey recently discussed consumer behavior during its earnings conversations, referencing growth in their U.S. candy, mint, and gum categories, which they believe is due to consumers reacting to the current volatile environment and seeking comfort food.
