Clothing brand D'iyanu is optimizing its product development operations by investing in a platform that streamlines efforts across planning, design, sourcing, pricing, allocation and assortment.

The Philadelphia-based fashion company, which includes clothing for men, women and children — and was founded in 2014 by Addie Ajayi — focuses on African-inspired prints, paying homage to the culture while incorporating modern fashion trends.

Its products are currently exclusively sold through its e-commerce platform, but the company plans to expand into retail channels.

D’iyanu struggled with operational inefficiencies within its product development process, facing challenges such as data inconsistency and time-intensive manual efforts.

"We were tired of spending time fixing errors, dealing with glitches and managing data in a way that was not scalable for our growth," said Yolanda, head designer, in a statement. "We needed a more efficient, user-friendly system that could handle everything in one place."

As a result, the company sought out a product lifecycle management platform from Centric Software to centralize its data, automate processes and integrate capabilities with existing systems to enable cross-functional collaboration and seamless workflows.

D’iyanu expects to benefit from streamlined tech pack management, improved production milestone tracking and better materials management. It will also help support the company’s goal of a 12-month timeline for design and development for each collection.

"The ability to track everything in one place and have better clarity around our design and production calendars is a game changer for us," said Addie Ajayi, founder and CEO, in a statement.
