Newell Brands Drives Digital, Commercial Growth With Two Hires: Tambi Younes, Michael Drymalski

Newell Brands has made two key leadership appointments aimed at accelerating its digital and commercial growth strategies. 

Tambi Younes has been promoted to vice president of e-commerce, where he will unite Newell’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) and omnichannel enablement teams under one vision. 

Also, Michael Drymalski returns to Newell Brands as its new VP of sales strategy and capabilities, joining the global Newell sales leadership team.

Younes earned the role for his “outstanding leadership, deep digital expertise and unwavering commitment to driving impact,” Newell's Chief Marketing Officer Nick Hammit said in a LinkedIn post.

Younes has spent nearly a decade with Newell, holding a series of product experience and DTC leadership roles. Most recently, he was senior director of product, UX and digital experience, where he spearheaded AI solutions within the global DTC digital platform and led an approach to product design centered on user research and customer insights, according to LinkedIn

Prior to that, he was director of e-commerce, DTC, where he led a 12-person team that worked on merchandising, promotional and assortment strategies. He also drove strong growth on Amazon as senior manager of global e-commerce for the company’s baby and parenting brands, optimizing digital marketing, product visibility and channel strategy to gain market share.

More About Drymalski 

In his new role, Drymalski will lead the integration of go-to-market capabilities, drive sustainable growth and strategic partnerships, and oversee key center of excellence teams, including RGM, sales operations, category leadership, Newell Nexus, retail execution and commercial innovation, according to Chief Commercial Officer Mike Hayes.

Hayes said Drymalski was selected for his track record in building high-performing teams, accelerating commercial growth and leading organizations through ongoing change.

“Mike possesses impressive experience in strategic planning, channel development, sales innovation, customer marketing and commercial operations,” Hayes said in a LinkedIn post. “From his time previously serving as Newell’s VP of marketing for the food business, I know Mike’s strategic mindset and commercial acumen align perfectly with our goal to deliver exceptional customer experiences and unlock new opportunities for our iconic brands.”

During a nearly five-year break from the company, Drymalski worked at Serta Simmons Bedding in a variety of marketing, sales and commercial operations roles. As SVP of customer marketing, sales and commercial operations within the e-commerce function, Hayes said on LinkedIn that he transformed it from one of the lowest-performing channels to one of the fastest growing, driving double-digit sales growth and market share expansion. 

Prior to that, he was with Newell for three years in global and trade marketing roles. Additionally, he spent time with Kimberly-Clark in a series of customer development and sales roles, including VP of sales.
