Halo Top Dishes Out Free Pints Digitally

7/17/2018

Halo Top Creamery celebrated "National Ice Cream Day" on July 15 by giving 1,000 consumers free containers of its newest peanut butter & jelly flavor. Part of Halo’s new "Gold Edition" flavor line, the product will then get limited retail distribution in August.

The first 1,000 consumers who visited halotop.com, established an account, ordered the product and entered a special code at checkout were able to procure a free carton. In August, a “flash buy” retail promotion will make the SKU more widely available for several weeks (while supplies last). Participating chains include Walmart, Ahold Delhaize's Stop & Shop, ShopRite and Meijer. Beginning July 16, the flavor can also be purchased online through icecreamsource.com, a direct-to-consumer website owned by frozen food delivery specialist e-tailer inc.

Named one of TIME Magazine’s “25 Best Inventions of 2017,” Halo Top became America’s No. 1 pint of ice cream in 2017. Halo Top was also rated the number one food/beverage brand overall in IRI’s "New Product Pacesetters" report.

The company was recognized as one of CGT's "Standout SMBs" in April, while co-founder Justin Woolverton was named one of the magazine's "2018 Visionaries" and a finalist in its "CMO of the Year" competition in June.
