The optimizations will allow the company to more easily track and meet compliance requirements.

United Legwear & Apparel is optimizing its supply chain network by implementing AI-powered traceability.

The 25-year-old, New York City-based apparel manufacturer owns the Pro Player, Lemon, and TicTacToe brands and also maintains licensed brands such as Skechers, Van Heusen, DKNY, Champion, and Weatherproof. Additionally, the company is a joint venture partner of Puma North America and has distribution partnerships with Scotch & Soda and Hurley.

The company sought a solution to support its sustainability goals and navigate a complex regulatory environment.

To do so, the company partnered with TradeBeyond to bolster efforts in ethical sourcing by increasing visibility and transparency across the supply chain from raw materials to finished products. The optimizations will allow the company to more easily track and meet compliance requirements set by the U.S. Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and other European and North American ESG laws.

New capabilities include real-time document verification and AI-driven custody tracking. The technology automatically collects thousands of compliance documents including orders, invoices, and shipment records; scans them and validates them; and flags any issues and compliance risks by sending real-time alerts to stakeholders.

At the end of the multi-phase implementation, United Legwear will have access to an expanded data set that will help it address new regulations around recyclability and carbon reporting.

“We are committed to ensuring that our supply chain upholds the highest standards for transparency and human rights,” said Chris Volpe, chief operating and financial officer at United Legwear. He said the investment will ensure the company can guarantee responsible sourcing while strengthening its connections with suppliers.
