Footwear company Skechers is investing in its integrated business planning (IBP) capabilities by tapping artificial intelligence to more efficiently meet consumer demand.
The company is working with o9 Solutions for the integration, accelerating planning processes and capabilities across its North America retail business, along with leveraging AI-powered decision making to “more intuitively” manage the flow of inventory to its domestic stores, according to Skechers CIO Chris Coye.
“As a company that delivers a diverse portfolio of lifestyle and performance footwear, apparel and accessories, Skechers is always looking for new ways to evolve our capabilities,” added Coye.
Other companies have tapped o9 Solutions technology as part of their digital transformation efforts. Barilla, for example, recently onboarded supply chain planning tools in order to make more data-based decisions that can better respond to supply chain opportunities and risks.
Stefano Pietroni, VP of supply chain design, planning and customer service at Barilla, said the company integrated the tech for scalability and flexibility purposes amid "increased demand volatility and unpredictable supply difficulties."
"We will enhance our orchestration capability of the demand-driven supply chain from forecast to delivery, ensuring that customer service level is consistent with business priorities," said Pietroni.
Pandora invested in new software this past November to overhaul its global planning and merchandising infrastructure, as did Urban Outfitters’ parent company URBN last summer. Kraft Heinz has grow its demand planning capabilities using the company’s AI tech as well.
