Summit Hill Foods has a new chief marketing officer. The company has tapped Kyle Peterson for the role.
As CMO, Peterson will be tasked with overseeing the company’s marketing, advertising, and digital strategies, helping to develop tactics to drive increased brand awareness and revenue growth.
He brings over 20 years of experience in the food industry and marketing space across several senior marketing and brand management roles at leading CPG companies. In recent years, he’s spent time with InnovAsian Cuisine, a leading frozen global cuisine brand, as its SVP of marketing and CMO, as well as with SunOpta, a global company focused on organic and natural food, ingredient sourcing, and specialty foods.
Peterson spent four years with Post Consumer Brands in various marketing and business development roles, including VP of corporate strategy and business development. There he formed new business development teams to drive growth in under-developed channels, including food service, e-commerce, and natural/organic categories.
Prior to that, he spent a decade at General Mills, working across supply chain optimization, strategic growth, and marketing, per his LinkedIn. As senior marketing manager for the company’s yogurt division, Peterson was responsible for brand PNL, strategy, campaign development, and innovation. He renovated two product lines for U.S. production, integrating sales, redeveloping packaging and brand positioning for a regional re-launch, which resulted in doubled sales in less than 10 months.
Peterson said he is looking to leverage his experience to accelerate Summit Hill Foods' strong momentum of growth.
