Nissin Foods has announced the appointment of former Kellogg’s exec Brian Huff as president and CEO, effective immediately. Huff takes over from Mike Price, who is retiring after serving in the position since 2018.

Huff worked with Kellogg’s for 24 years and spent over two years as president of US snacks, overseeing a portfolio of brands including Pringles, Cheez-Its, Keebler, and Kellogg's branded snacks. After leaving Kellogg’s in 2015, Huff worked for a variety of CPG snack brands, including Diamond Foods and Whole Earth Brands.

The maker of Top Ramen and Cup Noodles has brought Huff on to lead the U.S. division of Nissin Foods, managing growth and bolstering the company's position in the instant ramen category market. Huff’s appointment comes at a significant time for Nissin Foods, with the company recently announcing a third manufacturing facility in the United States due to an uptick in demand.

Huff will also be tasked with leading the company’s progress and commitment to sustainability and other global initiatives, including the Earth Food Challenge 2030, which aims to minimize CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050.

As part of this project, Nissin hit the headlines late last year for redesigning its iconic polystyrene cup – in circulation since 1973 – with a more sustainable paper version. The newly designed cups are slated to hit the shelves early this year.

"Nissin Foods is a brand that is steeped in rich heritage and yet, it has maintained an entrepreneurial spirit that remains the cornerstone and accelerant behind its relentless innovation that continues to shape the category - then and now,: said Huff. "The future holds great opportunity for Nissin Foods in the U.S. and I look forward to working alongside this impressive team of professionals to continue on with the company's mission."
