When actress Jessica Alba founded The Honest Company four years ago she wasn’t expecting it to fail — she also wasn't expecting it to grow like wildfire and become one of the top family and baby brands.

Alba and business partner Brian Lee started The Honest Company in 2011 with a simple preface — they wanted to form a company that provided families with safer and healthier products for both their children and their homes. The inspiration came to Alba when she was pregnant with her first child, Honor, and had an allergic reaction to laundry detergent. Following some market research the actress and business mogul discovered that there was no one place that could service her desire for natural products for her home, and a business began to form in her head.

"I wanted safer and healthier products," Alba said during her and Lee's keynote address at the SAP Retail Forum last week. "It was really challenging to find one company that did all the research for me."

Alba was apparently not the only young mother in search of safe and healthy products. For the full article click here.
