Health and wellness consumer goods company The Hain Celestial Group has hired Chris Jenkins as its global head of impact, a new role in which Jenkins will oversee the company’s global growth strategy with a focus on sustainability and wellness initiatives.

Jenkins is tasked with working on growth goals across three core business areas: Healthier Products, Healthier People, and Healthier Planet.

Jenkins joins the larger organization from Ella’s Kitchen, the company’s UK-based baby and children’s food brand where he led impact for more than a decade. During that time, he oversaw the company’s climate action plan and B-Corp certification. In addition, he worked on the company’s food and childhood poverty and biodiversity advocacy work.

He will continue his impact work with the Ella’s Kitchen brand as part of this broader role, which looks to reduce scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions enterprise-wide and move toward diverting 86% of its food waste away from landfills, in addition to reaching 65% renewable energy use within operations.

Jenkins said he believes that to address social and environmental challenges, the business needs to be part of that solution and lead the change.

"We have a strong base to build on as we work together to grow our impact and deliver meaningful change for people, communities, and the planet, on a global scale," he said.

Kristy Meringolo, Hain Celestial chief legal and corporate affairs officer, said Jenkins’ track record in advancing purpose and ESG work for Ella’s Kitchen is an indicator for the strong leadership and innovative thinking the company needs to advance its global strategy and drive impact across the brand and end-to-end value chain.

Hain Celestial offers a portfolio of wellness brands including Ella's Kitchen, and Cully & Sully, Linda McCartney Garden Veggie Snacks, Terra Chips, Earth's Best, and Yves.
