The Consumer Goods Forum will hold its annual Global Summit June 11-14 in Chicago, gathering top executives from today’s largest manufacturers and retailers.

CEOs and other senior leaders will convene to discuss such industry issues as sustainability, product data, human rights, food waste, food safety, supply chain innovation, and more. The event is designed in part to provide a forum for leaders to discuss strategies to integrate sustainability with profitability to meet both immediate and long-term challenges.

Under the theme of “Empowering Businesses to Deliver a Better Tomorrow,” the Summit will include speakers and attendees from such companies as Mondelez International, The Coca-Cola Company, Danone, L'Oréal, PepsiCo, Ahold Delhaize, and Walmart, among others.

“By uniting many of the world’s most influential business leaders, the Summit will harness the collective expertise and reach that makes the CGF a uniquely powerful force,” said Dirk Van de Put, chairman and CEO of Mondelēz, and co-chair of the CGF, in a statement. “It is a huge opportunity for inspiration, networking, and collaboration.”

CGF launched five Acceleration Areas last June that are designed to speed up the impact of its coalitions: mainstreaming a deforestation and conversion free approach to supply chains;  adopting CGF’s Golden Design Rules to enable a circular economy for plastics; embracing Human Rights Due Diligence; establishing employee wellbeing programmes; accelerating emission reductions.

This year’s event seeks to enable CGF members to ramp up their ability to get involved within them, per Van de Put. “Our message is that the entire consumer goods industry must continue to step up and go further.”

“The consumer goods sector has a critical part to play in the transition to a greener, healthier, and more resilient future, and every business must step up to go further,” noted Frans Muller, president and CEO of Ahold Delhaize, and fellow CGF co-chair. “While the scale of the challenges we face are unprecedented, they are also shared – so there is great power in tackling them together.”

Key topics will include the impact of digital transformation, the dynamics of global market shifts, and the strategic implementation of ESG principles. Retailers will lead discussions on managing scope 3 emissions across the supply chain, and the event will showcase how AI and other advances can enhance efficiency and responsiveness to evolving consumer and investor expectations.

Speakers include James Quincey, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company; Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Danone; Ramon Laguarta, CEO of PepsiCo; Carlos Abrams-Rivera, CEO of The Kraft Heinz Company; Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L'Oréal; Hein Schumacher, CEO of Unilever;  Kathryn McLay, president and CEO of Walmart International; Colleen Wegman, CEO of Wegmans; and John Phillips, SVP customer supply chain and global go-to-market, PepsiCo, among others.
