Peddie returns after working at Nike for 30 years before announcing his retirement in 2020.

Tom Peddie is rejoining Nike as VP of marketplace partners, an area the company is looking to bolster efforts amid slumped retail sales.

The previously retired executive will oversee third-party retail partnerships, Nike confirmed in an email to CGT.

He takes over for Jim Reynolds, who is stepping down and retiring after an 18-year run with Nike. Peddie worked at Nike for 30 years before announcing his retirement in 2020.

“Tom spent many years at Nike leading global sales before becoming the GM of emerging markets, and then heading up the North America geography,” said a Nike spokesperson. “He is a seasoned leader with a proven business track record and experience building high-performing teams. We are excited to have him return to Nike.”

As part of growth rebuilding efforts, per the company’s latest earnings call, Nike is also reinvesting nearly $1 billion into consumer-facing activities in fiscal year 2025, including upgrades in design, product creation, and merchandising and elevating the brand in physical retail.
