Maybelline Taps Microsoft Teams to Bring Virtual Makeup Looks to Life at Work

Maybelline New York, part of the L’Oreal Group, is collaborating with Microsoft to integrate virtual makeup capabilities into Microsoft Teams.

The partnership is designed to offer a new way for people to look their best on video calls and empower self-confidence in the virtual workplace. The Maybelline Beauty app allows users to quickly adjust their style directly within a Teams meeting so they can test out a range of looks that best suit their meetings.

The technology is powered by Modiface AI and was created in collaboration with the Geena Davis Institute to ensure broad and diverse populations are represented adequately within the app.

Whether you are working in-person or virtually, feeling good about yourself can help put your best foot forward" said Trisha Ayyagari, global brand president of Maybelline New York, in a statement. "That's why we partnered with Microsoft Teams to develop virtual makeup looks — now even on the busiest day, you can put makeup on with just a click. We hope we make people's lives a little easier."

Users access a “virtual makeup bag” stocked with all the essential makeup products to enhance their virtual appearance. 12 makeup looks are available to naturally enhance the user’s appearance so they can effortlessly do their best.

The app provides information about the product breakdown, allowing users to recreate these looks in real life. The app is currently available for those with a Teams enterprise license.
