Mattel has named Christopher Farrell its newest executive vice president and chief strategy officer.
Mattel has named former Ahold Delhaize exec, Christopher Farrell its newest executive vice president and chief strategy officer, effective immediately.
Farrell will lead strategic planning and corporate development for the Barbie-making company, with responsibilities spanning from identifying opportunities to accelerate growth and profitability to optimizing business performance globally. Farrell will report to Ynon Kreiz, Chairman and CEO of Mattel.
Farrell joins Mattel from Dutch food retailer Ahold Delhaize, where he was global head of M&A for the last five years.
Farrell also previously served as head of strategy, M&A, and investor relations for Delhaize Group and had a hand in the 2016 merger between Ahold and Delhaize, while also driving other strategic initiatives. Overall, Farrell spent a decade working across the two organizations.
Farrell also previously served as chief strategy officer at Authentic Brands Group.
