Breakfast-foods consumer goods company Kodiak has a new chief operating officer. The company has tapped Steve Katzenberger for the role.

Katzenberger joins Kodiak from Campbell’s Soup Company, where he served as the company’s senior vice president of supply chain. Prior to that, he held leadership roles with Kraft Foods, Hearthside Food Solutions, and more.

"Kodiak has already made such remarkable progress and has become one of the biggest players in its industry,” said Katzenberger in a statement. “By joining this team, I look forward to combining my expertise with the unique position the brand has to continue to propel it forward."

Sonali Dalvi Takes on New Role at Kodiak

The company also hired Sonali Dalvi for a brand-new role at Kodiak, vice president of product development. Dalvi will be tasked with overseeing product innovation, and brings research and development experience from companies like PepsiCo, Quaker Foods, Olam Food Ingredients, and PureCircle.

At PepsiCo, Dalvi spent nearly 15 years climbing the ranks from senior scientist to senior R&D manager for the company’s global grains segment, where she managed a team of researchers and established the Bars Category innovation center with global initiatives. She also led mergers and acquisitions and provided R&D guidance for the company’s global segments, developing workshops in India and Chile.

Per a LinkedIn job posting, the company is looking to expand its product development even further, searching for an associate director of product development to join Dalvi’s team.

Both Katzenberger and Dalvi will report to the company’s CEO, Val Oswalt, who said the new leadership moves will help Kodiak get the right products in the hands of consumers.

Kodiak is a Park City, Utah-based, 40-year-old company that includes several products across the breakfast category, including flapjack and waffle mixes, Kodiak Cups, oatmeal packets, and baking mixes. The company focuses on whole grain products with no GMOs, no preservatives, and no artificial flavors.
