Juanita’s Foods, a manufacturer of Mexican-style consumer foods, has hired George Miketa to lead the company’s customer-facing functions. As chief customer officer, he will play a key role in Juanita’s go-to-market strategy by growing customer relationships and the brand’s presence across multiple channels.

Jody Jordan, chief operating officer, said in a statement that Miketa was hired for his deep understanding of customer strategy and his proven track record of building lasting retail partnerships.

More About Miketa

Miketa joins the company from natural foods company SunOpta, where he served as chief customer officer since 2017, according to LinkedIn. There he consolidated sales team efforts, combining the frozen fruit and healthy beverage and snack categories to drive double-digit sales growth while broadening scale and relevance with customers.

Additionally, he was previously the SVP of sales for TreeHouse Foods’ baked goods division, and spent nearly a decade with Conagra Brands in a variety of business development and sales roles within the company’s snack and private label segments.

Juanita Foods’ Ongoing Transformation

The company has been undergoing a major leadership shuffle.

It recently named Phil Brewer as senior vice president of operations, bringing experience in senior operational roles across Pinnacle Foods, Conagra and The Cheesecake Factory to oversee Juanita's Foods' operational strategy with a focus on scaling capabilities.

This builds on last month’s hiring of Simon Stopol, who takes on the newly created role of senior vice president of transformation, which looks to streamline operations, drive innovation and accelerate growth. This will include enterprise-wide digital modernization and process improvements, along with cross-functional collaboration and culture-focused changes.
