Hormel Hires Will Bonifant to Tackle Supply Chain Overhaul
Hormel Foods has named a group vice president and chief supply chain officer.
Will Bonifant will take on the role March 9, tasked with overseeing the company's supply chain operations, including procurement, manufacturing, planning, logistics, engineering and innovation.
He takes over for Kevin Myers, who temporarily filled the role last April following Steve Lykken's departure from the company.
This follows a three-year supply chain transformation journey as part of Hormel's Brand Fuel strategy, which has so far included investing in real-time data sharing to improve on-shelf availability with retail partners and moving toward a holistic, integrated business planning approach.
John Ghingo, president of Hormel, stated that Bonifant was hired for his experience scaling complex operations and building modern capabilities across global networks.
"His forward‑looking leadership and ability to drive transformation across complex systems will be instrumental as we advance our long‑term strategy and strengthen our global supply chain," Ghingo added.
More About Bonifant
Bonifant joins Hormel Foods from The Hershey Co., where he had a 15-year tenure and worked across North America and international markets.
He most recently led supply chain strategy, manufacturing and engineering for a 20-plant network, and also helped lead restructuring efforts, according to LinkedIn.
Prior to that, he oversaw Hershey's end-to-end China supply chain and operations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Before Hershey, Bonifant served as a project leader at the Boston Consulting Group, where he was focused on strategy, organizational design, supply chain transformation and cost optimization.
