With over 30 years at Flowers, he recently served as chief strategic projects officer, responsible for advancing the company’s long-term growth. Roach’s past roles include president of cake operations and other leadership positions across snacking and specialty, organics, and national and regional sales, as well as operations presidencies with other companies in Georgia and Tennessee.

"David's leadership and deep understanding of our DSD model positions us to improve execution, enhance profitability and consistently deliver value to stakeholders,” said Varnedoe.

Flowers' growth strategy includes expanding its portfolio and share of market. It recently acquired Simple Mills, a snack and baking-mix brand in the better-for-you category.
