The Coca-Cola Co. will have a new leader at the helm beginning March 31.

Henrique Braun takes on the role of CEO, taking over for James Quincey, who will transition to executive chairman after serving in the leadership position for nine years.

During his time with the company, Quincey helped lead the transformation of the company, adding more than 10 billion-dollar brands and reshaping Coca-Cola's strategy and business model with a focus on modernized marketing and digitally-enabled operations.

“I’m stepping down as CEO after a 30-year career with the company, and I have an appreciation of what a privilege it has been to serve this great and enduring business,” Quincey said in a statement. “Henrique is a trusted and highly experienced business partner, and he’s the right leader to steer the company and the Coca-Cola system for future growth and success.”

Braun is tasked with building on that foundation, identifying new global growth opportunities that keep the consumer at the center and use technology as an enabler.

Braun was previously the company's EVP and COO. Before that, he served as EVP and also SVP of international development. From 2020 to 2022, he was the president of Coca-Cola's Latin America business unit, and from 2013 to 2016, he oversaw the Greater China and South Korea regions.

He's been with the company since 1996, working across supply chain, new business development, marketing, innovation, general management and bottling operations.
