Coca-Cola Creates Chief Digital Officer Role, Hires Sedef Salingan Sahin
As part of The Coca-Cola Co.'s ongoing leadership shuffle, it has created a new chief digital officer role.
Sedef Salingan Sahin takes on the position, tasked with leading the company's digital roadmap, integrating its digital network across various functions to unify digital, data and operational excellence. She was hired for her multi-functional leadership and experience in end-to-end transformations to accelerate growth and business performance.
More About Sahin
Sahin was previously the company's president of the Eurasia and Middle East business unit. Since joining Coca-Cola in 2023, she's held a variety of roles, including president of the company's nutrition, juice, dairy and plant category within the marketing function.
Any digital strategy efforts previously overseen by John Murphy, president and CFO, will transition to Sahin. She will report to Henrique Braun, who transitions to CEO on March 31.
“The chief digital officer position is a pivotal new role for our future,” Braun said in a statement. “Sedef’s proven leadership will help shape how we digitalize the enterprise end to end, and over the next several months, she will assess how to organize the teams responsible for digital across the enterprise to help strengthen execution, simplify how we work and enable us to deliver for consumers with greater precision and speed.”
Additional leadership shifts include:
- Manolo Arroyo, EVP and chief marketing and customer commercial officer
- Sanket Ray, president of the India and Southwest Asia operating unit and emerging large markets lead
- Claudia Lorenzo, president of the Eurasia and Middle East operating unit and emerging multi-markets lead
- Robin Halpern, incoming chief of staff for Braun
“These changes are intended to help equip our organization to handle the dynamic conditions we are seeing in markets around the world,” Braun added.
