Swiss Army Knife manufacturer Victorinox and food company JBS USA have formed a strategic partnership to strengthen their plant-level operations through a streamlined supply chain.

The direct purchasing relationship will allow the companies to collaborate on new product development that meets the evolving needs of modern food processing facilities, they said.

"Partnering with JBS USA is the logical next step in terms of product development and maximizing the lifetime value of each and every knife," Ulrich Wohn, president of Victorinox North America, said in a statement.

He stated the partnership will allow Victorinox to better execute across logistics and inventory management at the individual plant level.

Victorinox's infrastructure includes a 90,000 square-foot distribution center in Monroe, Connecticut. Full ownership of the supply chain will help ensure consistent in-stock availability, rapid delivery and more responsive service for both companies.

"Partnering with Victorinox represents an exciting step forward in our commitment to operational excellence and long-term value creation," Jerson Nascimento, chief procurement officer, JBS USA, said in a statement. "By combining our expertise, we are strengthening our ability to deliver best-in-class tools with an aim toward maximizing yields at the plant level."
