Post Holdings CEO Robert Vitale will step down from the leadership role, transitioning to executive chairman of the company on Oct. 1. Nicolas Catoggio will take his place, elevating his position from EVP, COO to president and CEO of the organization.

Catoggio will oversee the broader Post portfolio, which includes subsidiaries Post Consumer Brands, The Weetabix Food Co., Michael Foods and Bob Evans Farms. Within these umbrellas, the companies represent brands such as Peter Pan, Pebbles, Honey Bunches of Oats and Simply Potatoes.

Vitale stated Catoggio was selected for his experience in driving strong performance for Post Consumer Brands, leading the integration of acquisitions and executing on strategy that creates long-term value for shareholders.

Catoggio had led the subsidiary Post Holdings Co. for the last five years before transitioning to COO of the parent company in January. In that time, he oversaw the expansion of the organization into multiple new categories and international markets through strategic M&A transactions.

Prior to joining Post, he was a managing director and senior partner of The Boston Consulting Group, working across its consumer goods practice with primary focus on marketing, sales strategy and organizational design, according to LinkedIn

Before that, he worked for Unilever for nearly a decade, spending most of his time in the company's new business development, corporate strategy and finance functions in a regional capacity for the Argentina, Brazil, U.S. and U.K. businesses.
