PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta and Tesco CEO Ken Murphy will serve as co-chairs of The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) for the next two years, taking over as leadership of the CEO-led organization for manufacturers and retailers from Ahold Delhaize president and CEO Frans Muller and Mondelez International CEO Dirk Van de Put.

“Over the next two years, I’m committed to growing our reach and relevance locally, while expanding our network globally,” Murphy said in a statement. “In a fast-paced consumer environment, the CGF can play a positive role for members large and small, with pre-competitive knowledge sharing on the big issues.”

Last year, the CGF gathered over a thousand CPG execs to challenge each other to be better stewards of the planet and their consumers.

The CGF unites the leaders of more than 400 companies spread across 70 companies, helping them navigate the disruptive business environment through networking and thought leadership sharing events while developing new talent through the Future Leaders Program. Murphy and Laguarta said they want to focus on increasing membership along with helping businesses grow sustainably while minimizing risk.

“I strongly support the CGF mission of ‘Better Lives through Better Business,’ and over the next two years, I look forward to helping the CGF deliver a positive impact on people and the planet, while continuing to strengthen the Global Food Safety Initiative,” Laguarta said in a statement. “I am eager for the CGF to continue expanding its local engagement in North America, Europe, Latin America, China and Japan, while ensuring they meet members' regional needs and recruit new members.”
