Orveon Global — producer of brands like bareMinerals, Laura Mercier, and Buxom – has appointed Richard Jones its new chief supply chain officer.
The move represents a return to beauty for Jones, who previously served as chief supply officer and head of R&D at Coty from 2019 to 2021, before announcing his departure. At the time, the company separated Jones’ role into two positions, appointing leaders to oversee supply chain and R&D separately.
Since then, Jones has worked as global operations chief supply chain officer in the petcare division at Mars and as a senior board advisor and independent supply chain consultant at food and beverage start-up meati.
Jones has over 20 years experience in overseeing operations in the consumer goods industry, including stints at L’Oreal and Unilever.
In a post on LinkedIn, Jones shared excitement to “join Orveon and return to the beauty industry,” adding that he was “looking forward to transforming Orveon’s global supply chain into a competitive advantage.”
Orveon's Agile Brand Ecosystem
Orveon Global’s chief executive officer, Pascal Houdayer, delivered a provocative keynote address at last year’s consumer goods sales and marketing summit, encouraging attendees to get away from referring to those who purchase our products as “consumers.”
“We need to move from transaction to humanism,” he said. “Do you think that people like to be called consumers? They hate that. They are not consumers, they are human.”
During the address, Houdayer also touched on the vision of the Orveon ecosystem as “very agile; it's like a flower with petals. The brands, the markets, the core functions…they are co-owning one process,” said Houdayer. The advantages, he said, were cost-effectiveness, agility, and speed. “Consumers want access to you.”
