The study, developed in partnership with The Harris Poll, identified three key snacking statistics that could help inform holiday snacking innovations over the next several months.

  • We're All Connected by Snacks: Seventy-six percent agreed with the statement, "Some of my fondest childhood memories include sharing a snack with my parents."
  • Sharing Is a Holiday Pastime: A majority of global consumers (78%) enjoy sharing their favorite childhood snacks with others.
  • Snacks Have Generational Significance: Seventy-three percent of surveyed respondents agreed that there are certain snacks their family eats that have been passed down through several generations.

“Snacking is about more than satisfying a craving — it’s about tapping into cherished memories and forging deeper connections, particularly during the holiday season,” Melissa Davies, senior manager, global insights and trendspotting, said in a statement. “Whether it's recreating childhood memories or establishing new rituals, snacks play a central role in celebrating the holidays and strengthening bonds.”
