Mars Petcare is teaming with Tripadvisor as part of its efforts to transform itself into a comprehensive digital resource for consumers.
The first fruits of this partnership include a co-branded digital hub, which Mars said represents a significant investment to accelerate its digital transformation to meet the needs of the increasingly “always-connected” pet parent.
Indeed, the company joins such fellow pet CPGs as Nestle Purina in seeking to cater to the growing market of digitally connected pet owners, especially as category sales shift online.
Among the features available on the Mars/Tripadvisor hub, available online and through the Tripadvisor mobile app, include city guides developed in partnership with Mars’ Cesar pet brand that lists pet-friendly travel tips and attractions.
There’s also an “AI trip builder” where users can develop a pet-friendly trip with a personalized itinerary guided by traveler tips and reviews. Businesses, meanwhile, can learn how to become pet friendly on Tripadvisor and vie for a new Traveler’s Choice Award for the most pet-friendly hotel.
The hub is initially launching in the U.S. and will expand globally, according to Mars.
