Ian Rogers is transitioning from LVMH’s chief digital officer into an advisory role at the company, and taking on the role of chief experience officer at Ledger, a cryptocurrency startup.

Rogers joined the No. 7 consumer goods company five years ago from Apple, where he served as senior director of Apple Music. He was also CEO of Beats Music before it was acquired by Apple in 2014.

In a Medium post announcing the news, Rogers shared his perspective from the front lines of the LVMH’s digital transformation, noting that he was proud of what they’ve accomplished. This includes evolving such buzzwords as “data, “digital,” “social media” and “omnichannel” into actionable strategies.

“The luxury business itself hasn’t changed, but the ways we create awareness and sell are changing dramatically, so at LVMH we have made many adaptations,” he wrote.

Rogers added: “When I joined LVMH there was disagreement on strategies regarding online distribution which have since been rationalized, agreed upon, and are being executed. We have started to build a practice around data and artificial intelligence which I believe will drive customer satisfaction, reduce waste, and drive sales in the coming years.”

At the Paris-based Ledger, Rogers will oversee product, marketing and sales of its B2C business.
