The J. M. Smucker Co. is restructuring and aligning its information services function under CFO Tucker Marshall.

As part of this, Bryan Hutson, SVP, information services, transformation, and portfolio operations, is expanding his role to include greater oversight of companywide productivity initiatives.

Hutson, who has been with the company for more than two decades, currently oversees all facets of Smucker’s technology strategy and plays a key role in significant portfolio management initiatives. His new responsibilities are intended to further grow margins and propel growth opportunities for the No. 77 publicly owned consumer goods company

The move, which follows Smucker’s implementation of a transformation office over the past year, will also bring the transformation, strategy, and finance functions under Marshall.

Marshall said in a statement that this will support greater leadership cohesion, adding that next steps include further integrating the transformation function within the company’s broader strategy while continuing to embed its vision across all planning processes.

“I look forward to supporting our continued progress, which will help us deliver on our commitment to continuous improvement and creating greater organizational flexibility and agility,” noted Marshall.

Wider Restructuring to Integrate Hostess Brands

These moves are part of a larger company restructuring that are intended to support J.M. Smucker’s acquisition of Hostess Brands. As part of this, it formed a new sweet baked snacks strategic business area and named Dan O’Leary, currently chief growth officer of Hostess Brands, as SVP and general manager to lead it. He will also manage the pet division.

Among the other changes:

  • Rob Ferguson, SVP and general manager, coffee and procurement, will manage the coffee division, inclusive of the Folgers, Dunkin', and Café Bustelo brands.
  • Rebecca Scheidler will continue to manage frozen handheld and spreads (formerly consumer foods).
  • Tim Wayne will continue to manage away from home and international.
  • Amy Held, chief transformation officer; Joe Stanziano, SVP and general manager of coffee; Gagnesh Gupta, SVP, procurement and commodities, will depart from the company beginning in December.
