Grupo Bimbo is restructuring its leadership, replacing Daniel Servitje with Rafael Pamias as CEO to lead the company’s growth and expansion.

Rafael Pamias has been promoted, having served as Grupo Bimbo’s COO over the last year. He previously worked as Danone’s regional general manager of dairy and spent time at Henkel prior to that. He brings more than 35 years of experience in business strategy and marketing for multinational companies.

Pamias said he will be focused on the company’s growth strategy, competitiveness, talent development, and long-term view. “We will continue to double down on quality, innovation, and research and development,” he added.

He will report to Daniel Servitje who is stepping back from CEO to take on the role of executive chair, focusing on driving business decisions that align with long-term goals.

“It has been thanks to all of you that we are eight times larger than we were in 1997 when I took over as CEO, having carried out 93 acquisitions in this period,” said Servitje. “On top of being the chairman of the board, I will continue [to be] highly involved in all aspects of the strategy and execution of the company.”

Servitje said Pamias has experience leading large organizations and is an excellent operator and strategist with a global vision.

“He has managed to achieve good financial results in his teams, while also becoming a sustainable company that leaves a mark, as we aspire in our purpose,” he added. “He has been the architect of our new sustainability strategy.”
