Singh accepts the CIO of the Year award from CGT editor-in-chief Peter Breen
Manjit Singh, CGT's 2017 "CIO of the Year" honoree, has left Clorox Co. to become chief information officer and group vice president of information systems for Toyota Motor North America.
The position puts Singh in charge of strategy, development and operation of all information systems, solutions and technology for the automaker. He will report to Zack Hicks, Toyota's chief digital officer and executive vp of digital transformation and mobility. Hicks served as CIO before he was named to his current post in April.

As part of the information systems leadership team, Singh will collaborate with group vp of mobility Chris Tinto and vp of connected technology Steve Basra to focus on new business innovation, profitability, mobility and digital transformation.

To replace Singh, Clorox promoted Jay McNulty, who had been serving as vp of global support and delivery. In that role, McNulty was responsible for global IT operations and focused on strengthening talent and capabilities. He joined Clorox in 2016 to become part of Singh's transformation initiative as vp of performance management.
