Vision Chain Applies for Patent on Product
Vision Chain, a company specializing in demand signal repository (DSR) software, announces that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office obtains an application for the company's first patent on property in its platform. The patent pending will protect the company's methods of enabling consumer products companies to use demand data in multiple ways to create product 'clusters' that support micro-merchandising to their key retailers.
Micro-merchandising hinges on creating specific, customized product 'clusters' by different variables that specifically meet numerous business objectives. CPG companies have been challenged in doing this in the past due to lack of access to timely, cleansed demand and POS data available for their analyses.
With Vision Chain and its patent pending technology, multiple departments across the enterprise can access a single repository of real-time, cleansed consumer activity data down to the store shelf at a particular retail location to create different types of clusters. These include demand clusters, assessment clusters, strategic clusters, store clusters for new items, modular clusters and forecast clusters.
