Under Armour Hires Kara Trent to Lead Merchandising Efforts
Kara Trent is set to take on the role of chief merchandising officer for apparel company Under Armour on Feb. 2.
In the role, Trent will lead category management and go-to-market initiatives, managing the company's product line architecture, assortment planning and channel segmentation. She will be tasked with aligning consumer demand with product investment to drive revenue and margin optimization, improve SKU productivity, and strengthen marketplace and channel profitability.
Additionally, the company hired Adam Peake to lead the North and South America businesses as president, overseeing marketplace strategy, distribution and omni-channel growth.
These appointments reflect Under Armour's goal of aligning product, brand and go-to-market leadership under a unified operating model.

She brings 24 years of consumer goods experience in buying, planning, merchandising and regional leadership. Most recently, she served as president, Americas. Prior to that, she was the managing director for the EMEA region. Before Under Armour, Trent spent time at Puma, most recently serving as senior director of merchandising for the North America segment of the company's lifestyle footwear and apparel categories.
