J.Jill Hires Viv Rettke to Drive Growth Efforts With Data Analytics, AI

Apparel brand J.Jill hired Viv Rettke to lead its growth efforts.

In her capacity as the company's first chief growth officer, Rettke will oversee J. Jill's AI initiatives and direct channel performance. She will report directly to CEO and president Mary Ellen Coyne, working closely with the senior leadership team to define and align growth goals across brand, marketing, and direct and retail sales channels. 

“She has a proven ability to accelerate business growth at leading companies in fashion and other consumer industries," Coyne said in a statement. "We’re confident her deep expertise across brand building, corporate strategy, business transformation, and retail sales and operations will help us realize the untapped potential to expand our customer file and unlock new efficiencies and market opportunities.”

Rettke said she aims to expand the company's reach by leveraging data analytics and tech innovations such as AI to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

More About Rettke

Rettke brings extensive experience from across the consumer goods industries, having led growth strategies across the fashion, footwear, and food and beverage categories for companies such as Kraft Heinz, Reebok and Cole Haan.

She most recently served as the chief strategy and transformation officer for Cole Haan, where she led an enterprise-wide approach to rebrand the company from a men's dress shoe brand to a dual-gender lifestyle brand. Prior to that, she led transformation efforts at Reebok, overseeing the company's digital sales acceleration and profit improvement initiatives.

During her six-year tenure with The Kraft Heinz Co., she progressed through key roles in strategy, revenue management, category leadership and sales. She managed a $100 million grocery business for a major retail customer (Ahold) with P&L ownership, and led the category leadership for a $7.5 billion U.S. meat and dairy business unit, according to LinkedIn

Rettke serves as a council member of F.A.I.R. (Fashion Artificial Intelligence Responsibility), an organization that is looking to create a global framework for responsible AI adoption in the fashion and lifestyle industry.
