Hasbro Appoints New CEO
Hasbro Inc. announces that Alfred J. Verrecchia will step down as CEO and be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Brian Goldner, effective May 22. Verrecchia, who has spent 43 years at Hasbro, will become chairman of the board. Goldner joined Hasbro in 2000 from Bandai America Inc., becoming COO in 2006. The news was made in conjunction with the announcement that Hasbro's fourth-quarter sales rose 16 percent, driven by core brands, like Transformers, Littlest Pet Shop and Star Wars.
