Happy Thankgivukkah!

11/18/2013
This year, the first day of Hanukkah, which lasts eight days and nights, falls on November 28th, which just happens to be Thanksgiving. “Thanksgivukkah”, thus, has become the butt of many jokes, the motto for many T-shirts, the theme for countless restaurant menus, and, now, the basis for a major marketing campaign from kosher food maker, The Manischewitz Company.

According to an article in The New York Times, the campaign includes a microsite; a social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter; digital ads; paid search engine marketing; e-mail marketing; crowdsourced video clips; e-cards; recipes and a free app.

This, my friends, is how marketing in a digital era should be done — find a trend (or better yet, create one) and milk it for all it’s worth.

In this digital issue, you’ll read more modern-day sales and marketing success stories, from digital marketing to TPM to mobility.

On Page 9, McCormick highlights FlavorPrint, a digital service that delivers something that consumers have seen before in the electronic recipe space. In our second edition of CGT ‘s Straight Talk, we asked experts to trudge through the murky waters surrounding mobility to reveal what’s really possible with technologies available today. And on Page 34, we dig through four years worth of survey data on TPM to provide a status update on how far the industry has come. We think you’ll find the results encouraging.

As always, we thank you for your continued commitment to the CGT community. And have a very happy Thanksgivukkah!
