Haleon, the consumer health company behind brands such as Advil, Centrum, Emergen-C, Theraflu and Gas-X, has appointed a new chief research and development officer.

Carl Haney will step into the role in August, replacing Franck Riot, who is leaving the company after six years.

Haney joins Haleon from Estée Lauder Cos., where he served as executive vice president of global innovation, research and development for the past 13 years. In that role, he focused on driving transformative product innovation across the end-to-end R&D network and worked closely with the global value chain organization to maximize quality and value within innovation, according to his LinkedIn profile.
