Dr. Brown's Invests in Modern Warehouse Management to Reduce Legacy Strain
Dr. Brown's, manufacturer of baby products including bottles, pacifiers, pumps and teethers, is optimizing its supply chain operations.
The company sought out a solution that could help it meet increased demand within a distribution network that sources from both overseas suppliers and a U.S. production facility. It had already expanded its primary distribution center by more than 30% to grow efficiency.
Hank Murphy, IT and operations at Dr. Brown’s, said the company needed a flexible architecture that would allow it to design a platform around its operations, not the other way around.

As a result, it has partnered with warehouse management system provider Made4net to overhaul a legacy inventory system that had trouble keeping up with the network's growing complexity.
The new technology has streamlined processes, particularly first-in-first-out inventory management and accuracy, product tracking and pallet management, providing scalability, real-time visibility, and improved control over replenishment and picking processes.
“The platform aligns with our long-term IT strategy, integrating easily with our current ERP environment while giving us room to grow,” said Murphy in a statement.
