Southern Glazer’s Acquires Anheuser-Busch NYC Distribution
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is expanding its distribution network, acquiring operations owned by Anheuser-Busch within its New York City markets, which include Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx.
Anheuser-Busch, a subsidiary of parent company AB InBev, manufactures such alcohol brands as Michelob Ultra, Busch Light, Budweiser, Bud Light and Cutwater Spirits. The deal brings Southern Glazer’s into the fold of Anheuser-Busch's independent beer wholesale network.

To support these brands, Southern Glazer’s will launch a dedicated New York beverage division, led by Devyn Dugger. He takes on the role of SVP of the business, bringing a 20-year background in the beer wholesale industry within the Anheuser-Busch umbrella.
“Our deep expertise, capabilities and knowledge of the New York City market will enable us to build on the strong momentum that the Anheuser-Busch distribution team has created and further position our companies for collective growth,” said Mark Chaplin, president, commercial sales, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, in a statement.
The deal is expected to finalize later this year and includes Anheuser-Busch’s full product portfolio sold in the New York City area, including a new energy drink line, Phorm Energy. Southern Glazer’s plans to retain all Anheuser-Busch Bronx employees, while using the existing distribution facility in the borough.
