BrandShare Powers Walmart Shopper Program

Walmart has officially rolled out its Beauty Sample Box and Baby Sample Box subscriber programs in partnership with New York-based BrandShare. For a $5 subscription, customers will receive quarterly deliveries of the latest in beauty products or baby/nursing products shipped directly to their homes. The Beauty Box carries seven or eight full-size samples to meet seasonal beauty needs, with each brand receiving category exclusivity. This summer’s Beauty Box currently has 300,000 subscribers. The Baby Box reaches expectant mothers in their second and third trimesters, and then in quarterly increments thereafter.

IRI Launches Shopper Marketing Cloud

Chicago-based IRI has launched its Shopper Marketing Cloud, an integrated consumer, purchase and media data set built inside the company’s technology platform and powered by a prescriptive analytics engine for planning, targeting, activating and measuring by linking media to store-level or online purchase. The company says its new solution encompasses the whole portfolio of data sets and insights, focusing on media, social and purchase, to arm CPG companies for growth.

Fame Breaks From Omnicom Group

Minneapolis-based retail design agency Fame has established a new model and strategic direction by formalizing moves made over the past year. As of May 1, Fame began operating independently from the TBWA Network and Omnicom Group portfolio. The agency has expanded its retail and design expertise to more comprehensively embrace the full brand relationship, including social and mobile, the company stated in a media release. “Fame grew up in retail and being independent allows us a wider aperture to push forward objective thinking, faster action and more custom retail solutions for our clients,” says Lynne Robertson, CEO and now sole owner of Fame.

Henschel-Steinau Debuts Retail Lighting Solution

Allendale, New Jersey-based POS solution provider Henschel-Steinau has developed a plug-and-play, low-voltage LED system that promises value to retailers through simplified installation and maintenance, improved lighting, energy efficiency, intelligent sensors for daylight harvesting, analytics and reduced operating costs by 25% or more. LumaNEXT uses centralized power stations that connect to control devices located throughout a store to deliver current to as many as two dozen system devices including overhead solid state lighting, vertical graphic banner luminaires, suspended illuminated signs, illuminated perimeter wall displays, track lighting and other back-lit merchandising displays. Retailers have the ability to analyze consumer foot traffic and shopping patterns while setting brightness and energy output based on time of day.
