Joseph C. Andraski, president & CEO of The Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions (VICS) Association, has left the organization to pursue other professional opportunities. Andraski’s responsibilities, which include setting the strategic course for VICS and recruiting sponsors, will temporarily be shared by Bob Carpenter, president & CEO, and Patrick Javick, vice president of Retail Apparel and General Merchandise, both of GS1 US. VICS and GS1 US recently announced plans to merge.

“Joe Andraski’s tenure at VICS was marked by a dramatic growth at the organization, both in terms of the membership and the value derived from the association,” says Peter Longo, Co-Chairman of VICS and President of Logistics & Operations at Macy’s, Inc. “He guided VICS through a series of significant developments in key business areas like RFID, data synchronization, retail out-of-stocks, floor-ready merchandise, logistics and Collaborative Planning Forecasting & Replenishment.”

“The members and other constituents of VICS owe Joe Andraski a huge debt of gratitude for the effort he made on their behalf in leading the business world in the development and adoption of transformative management concepts,” adds N. Arthur Smith, corporate secretary & treasurer of VICS and CEO & Founder of GS1 Canada.

Prior to joining VICS in 2002 as managing director, Andraski held a leadership position with technology vendor OMI International and spent 25 years with Nabisco.
