Perrigo Co., which manufactures store brand medications and consumer self-care brands such as Dermalex, Coldrex and NiQuitin, has initiated a search for a new chief executive officer.

Once identified, the executive will permanently succeed Patrick Lockwood-Taylor, who served as president and CEO for three years. The company cited "personal conduct" that was "not consistent with its code of conduct" as the reason for his sudden departure.

Board member Albert Manzone has taken on his duties in the interim.

Orlando Ashford, board director, said Manzone brings 30 years of global leadership experience, "a proven track record of transforming businesses at inflection points," and deep knowledge of the business and self-care platform.

The company has undergone significant business shifts in the last year. Most notably, it offloaded its dermacosmetics business in 2026, which includes the brands ACO, Biodermal, Emolium and Iwostin.

It is also in the midst of a supply chain reinvention program to improve forecast accuracy and reduce portfolio complexity, led by EVP of product supply, operations strategy and transformation officer Matt Winterman.

These initiatives are a part of Perrigo’s three-year strategy to stabilize, streamline and strengthen its organization.
