Mondelez Names Luca Zaramella COO
Mondelez International will shift CFO Luca Zaramella to the role of chief operating officer on Feb. 1, tasked with overseeing the company's commercial operations, including the marketing, sales and supply chain functions.
Zaramella will continue to help shape the company's supply chain overhaul. The initiative includes addressing capacity constraints, installing automations within manufacturing lines and improving the cost structure, particularly for the U.S. bakeries business, according to Mondelez's most recent earnings discussions.
During the earnings call, Zaramella also discussed elevating logistics behind the company's DSD system, consolidating distribution centers, introducing new automations and improving inventory levels for retailers.
More About Zaramella
Zaramella has been the company's CFO since 2018 and has extensive global senior leadership experience with the company, previously holding roles across Latin America, Europe and North America.
Mondelez is conducting a search for the CFO position. Until a replacement has been found, he will continue in both roles.
“Luca is a strong operational and financial leader with deep knowledge of our business and a consistent record of driving strong results," CEO Dirk Van de Put said in a statement. "It is vital that we stay agile and continue to raise the bar on our operational excellence in an environment that has never been more dynamic."
