As part of its Information on Demand strategy, IBM announced on Monday that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Cognos, a business intelligence and performance management solutions provider, for approximately $5 billion or $58 per share.

Vision Chain Inc. has released Version 3.5 of its Demand Signal Repository Software Platform. New features include the ability for consumer products companies to deploy the software in a hosted, SAS-70 secure computing environment for retailers who allow their data to be hosted.
