Foster's to Partner with Miller on U.S. Brewing

Foster's Group Limited and Miller Brewing Company plan to enter into a ten-year agreement on a license-brewing partnership for Foster's in the United States. Under the arrangement, brewing of the Foster's Lager and Special Bitter sold in the United States will shift from Molson Coors of Canada to Miller's breweries in Fort Worth, Texas, and Albany, Georgia, in November of this year. The move to U.S. brewing for Foster's is expected to reduce freight time and expense, creating a stronger U.S. business structure that will better position the Australian brand for long-term growth here. Foster's will continue to be distributed and marketed in the U.S. through Foster's USA llc, a joint-venture between Miller and Foster's. "The decision to shift Foster's brewing to Miller builds a foundation for more robust growth in the United States," says Scott Weiss, managing director, Foster's Americas. "Foster's is the quintessential Australian brand, offering American beer drinkers a taste of the fun and sociable Aussie lifestyle.
