Coca-Cola to Deploy Global DSD Mobile Solutions

The Coca-Cola Company selects CAS to provide direct store delivery (DSD) mobile solutions to its bottler network, as part of the Program Scale Mobile Customer Management (MCM) initiative. In August 2009, CAS was also selected as the global sales force automation solutions provider to the bottler network.

"The new DSD mobile solution will complement our investment in the CAS application suite and further our goal of a single mobility platform, which in turn will reduce cost, IT complexity and leverage business functionality across the different user roles. This will further leverage our ongoing investments in our SAP ââ¬Ëback office' applications, which will enable our sales, delivery and, demand planning functions to work more efficiently together," says Tom Miller, general manager of Program Scale and vice president, Bottling Investments for The Coca-Cola Company.

Program Scale is designed to provide company owned and franchise bottlers with a common set of business processes under the Coke One operating model, using the SAP platform. MCM is designed to enhance the power of Scale by extending Coke One to include advanced customer facing capabilities, particularly in the area of mobile customer management and direct store delivery.

With the addition of DSD, CAS mobile solutions will likely allow the local bottler workforces around the world to gain efficiencies through the use of a single mobile platform. The solution will enable Coca-Cola and its bottlers to plan and execute at the outlet level in order to achieve their goal of delivering a tailored experience to meet the needs of individual shoppers and consumers at every beverage occasion.
