Carter's Online Growth Skyrockets
Childrens' clothing retailer Carter's, Inc. reports the company achieved over 25 percent growth in e-commerce over the last year, the highest growth in online sales to U.S. consumers in nine quarters. Additionally the company has launched e-commerce in China and has begun piloting its rewarding moments loyalty program.
Carter's retail segment, which includes both its retail stores and e-commerce businesses, grew approximately 6 percent, while Carter's e-commerce sales grew 21 percent over last year and represented 19 percent of total Carter's retail segment sale according to Q2 2015 Earnings. E-commerce was a particular source of strength for OshKosh in the second quarter with net sales growth of 31 percent and comparable sales growth of 36 percent. According to the company, its playwear offering is a significant part of its online business.
